Make it taco time with the Mexican taco kit!
This is a really fun gift to treat yourself or your friends and family.
The base Taco Kit includes:
- Guanajuato Mexican Corn Tortillas
- Tajin Chilli & Lime Mexican Seasoning
- Provenance House Ancho Rub
- El Yucateco Green Habanero
- San Marcos Pico de Gallo
- Tubby Tom's TACO DRIP
If you'd like some meat with your kit, then choose to add:
- 800g of our Mexican spiced Ancho chilli bavette
- 1kg pork shoulder
This box with a meat add-on feeds 3-4 people.
For the Pork: Preheat the oven to 160deg C.
Cover the pork in the Provenance Ancho rub and make sure it is completely coated.
Place the shoulder in a small deep baking tray.
Place in the oven and cook uncovered for 30 mins, after that time cover with baking parchment and tin foil over the top and put back in the oven. Lower the heat to 140 and cook for 1hr 30 mins . Remove and leave covered to rest for around 20 mins.
Once rested, take off the foil and baking parchment and start to shred the meat with tongs or your hands and mix with all the juices in the tray.
Keep warm while you warm the tacos and get the rest of the ingredients ready. Add the pork to the taco and the salsas as desired.
For the Bavette: get a pan or a griddle pan or BBQ ready on a medium high heat and sear on each side for 2-3 mins for medium rare or until to your liking. Slice the bavette against the grain and serve.
To warm the tacos, get a dry pan on a medium high heat and dry fry each tortilla for 1-2 mins per side until they go soft, place them either in a taco warmer (great investment!) or alternatively place in a makeshift foil pouch to keep warm and flexible.
Assemble your tortillas with either the shredded pork or bavette and serve with salsas of your choice. And, you can turn taco time into a FIESTA and wash the tacos with light Mexican cocktail!
*HOW TO PREPARE MICHELADAS*
Place some salt and Tajin seasoning in a small plate to cover the bottom. Rub the rims of four glasses with the lime wedges and dip them into the Tajin & alt mix.
Fill the glasses with ice and divide Clamato juice evenly between 4 glasses.
Add as much Habanero as you'd like!
Add squeezed lime, salt to taste (or you can use soy sauce, too!) and finally, top it up with Modelo or any other Mexican beer! Give it a gentle stir and you can enjoy Mexican Micheladas!
